Uh oh! I got what I asked for. I signed up for the third year in a row and actually got an entry this time into the famous Leadville 100 Mountain Bike Race!  It’s 100 miles across the high-altitude, extreme terrain of the Colorado Rockies starting at 10,152 feet and climbing to 12,424 feet on August 15th.  Intimidating, but I got the golden ticket so I need to show up to the party.

Immediately upon receiving notice, I went online to find somewhere to stay near the small town of Leadville which is far away from everything.  The last hotel room left was $858 so needless to say I passed on that.  Eventually, I found a small cabin with a heater 15 miles away for $85 a night.

I have the golden Leadville 100 Mountain Bike Race ticket and a room.  Now it’s time to seriously dust off the mountain bike!
