Gonna Get A Belt Buckle Yet This Year!

Woohoo! I’m in!  During this COVID pandemic, all the rage is virtual races for us itchy endurance racers with nowhere to race.  None have interested me to date until now.

I was very bummed that Leadville MTB 100 was canceled after I was lucky enough to get in through the lottery.  I had to cancel my cabin in the Rocky Mountains too.  It was a dream road trip for me.  I was really looking forward to getting that belt buckle finisher award, but alas I would have to wait at least another year or maybe two depending on where they finally place me in the new draw later this year.

Then, the email came.  A virtual race right up my alley.  The Leadville 100,000ft Challenge!  8 weeks to climb 100,000ft!  It starts June 22nd and you have until August 15th to complete it.  In other words 12,500 ft per week.  And what is the prize at the end of the road?  Oh yeah, gonna get that 100,000ft belt buckle!
