Today there were a lot of calories ahead of me. I was in Austin to work on menu concepts for a client as I am a restaurant consultant. It was going to be a day of non-stop eating. I woke up with the attitude that I needed to earn my eat-a-thon.
Fortunately, our AirBnb was near the Austin trail system. I plotted a run from our place along the river to the larger river along downtown and back. After getting a little lost, I made it back with 16 miles behind me. From rocky river trails to downtown and back, it was a pretty cool route.

More importantly, it was the first time I have run 16 miles since I was training for the Santa Barbara International Marathon in 2013!
