It has been a long road back from the foot injury in March. Additionally, I have been going through major struggles with my new shoe orthotics which are intended to alieviate future foot irritations and injuries. Unfortunately, I am now in my sixth adjustment of those orthotics that have been actually making my feet hurt more especially in the injured area. Very frustrating as the clock continues to tick.
Without the orthotics, I decided to venture out onto my first run since March. What better place to do it than in Santa Monica on the beach in the early morning as the sun rises.

There was no speed. I felt like I had to learn how to breathe all over again. My legs felt like two heavy tree trunks.

My per minute time shown above was over a minute slower than my time previous to my foot injury shown below on February 24th.

Nothing special for sure, but a start in the right direction. A start very much needed with only 2 months to race day where I need to go from this 2.6 mile run to 13.1 miles.
