I am not one to let something keep me down. Except when I am in a pool sinking to the bottom in Saudi Arabia I guess.
With the swimming ability in full de-evolution mode, I hit the track for a win of some sort. It has been a long time since I have run on a track. Apparently, it isn’t a very popular concept at the compound in Riyadh either. During my two weeks there I ran 6 days for a total of 30 miles around the 200-meter track. Only once was I joined by another runner. It was one of the few times I could say I was the fastest one on the track!
My times weren’t the best, but it was the most consistent I have run in a long time hitting the two laner every other day. Between the cushion of the track, and my Hoka’s, impact to the body was low, comfortable, and featured a quick recovery. Looking forward to getting back into a more consistent program upon my return to the states as it is time to start ramping up the mileage towards the half marathon mark.
